He's the first major artist to make his music video with a cell phone. That rapper is Paul Wall. And tilted on a tripod is the camera he will be using to shoot his music video in Houston and Los Angeles.
"It's a great way for me to promote my album," Wall says.
He's using the iPhone to shoot the entire video.
"We don't have to rent anything because basically everybody in the crew has a cell phone so that cuts down your cost right there and you can download it to the computer after words," Director Amir Vilinia says.
Wall says he's not nervous about the experience.
"If we do it this will be groundbreaking video right here and if not we're all having fun, so it's all good," Wall said.
Ron Finberg is the producer, the money man behind the project. He says it makes good economic sense to use the cell phone technology.
"We don't have to rent anything because basically everybody in the crew has a cell phone so that cuts down your cost right there and you can download it to the computer after words."
That means Wall's latest video could be on your laptop in about weeks.
